Mbox 1 Drivers Mac Lion
The 3rd generation Mbox Family products (Mbox Mini, Mbox, Mbox Pro) were announced on September 14, 2010.Standalone driver installers for these interfaces are available for download and include the device control panel. The control panels for the new third generation Mbox Family do not require installation of Pro Tools or connection of the Mbox device to view or configure. If the Mbox control panel is already installed on your system, click the About button to view the Package version. Once installed, you can find the control panel in System Preferences (Mac) or Start Menu/All Programs/Avid (Windows). If you are installing Pro Tools 10 or later, please download and install the latest compatible Mac or Win driver for your interface. If you are using Pro Tools 9 use a driver specifically listed for Pro Tools 9. USB 3.0 Ports not supported with Windows 7.
Mbox Digidesign Focusrite Drivers
I just discovered that Avid has discontinued support for the original MBox. I don't want to use ProTools; I just want to use the MBox as a simple USB audio interface for Audacity/Garageband. The last standalone driver Digidesign produced was for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Is there any way I can get this device working with OS X 10.7 Lion?

Mac Releases versionrelease dateinfolink1.2.13March 14, 2018. Supports macOS 10.13 (High Sierra), as well as Mac OS X 10.8.5, 10.9.5, 10.10.5, 10.11.6, 10.12.6. Fixed: High Sierra won't boot after installing Mbox drivers. NOTE: Please be aware of the following issues with this driver version. Inputs are muted when operating in Low Latency Monitoring. The workaround is to open the Mbox control panel application before opening Pro Tools.
(AAH-330). Audio is lost when switching I/O to S/PDIF then back to analog several times.
You must close and re-open the session to get audio back.
Hi Guys,i run the Mbox3 pro which is working without the Mbox3 Panel (usable only in DAW Host control). The Mbox3 Pro Panel crashes when tried to start. The Mbox Panel (which has the same code case as the one for Mbox Pro 3rd, except that it has different channel amounts) is starting correctly, crazy. If AVID isn't coming with an update i will switch over to a Apollo 8 from UAD, which was on my list for the next half year. All of my (complex) DAW workstation and external hardware stuff is still working, except these AVID Mbox software). Hey, these boxes are not cheap - at least a working beta should be there and the fact that the Mbox Panel and the Mbox Pro 3rd driver is working under 10.11 should let assume that it just takes some minutes to an hour to fix the bugs for 10.11.good luck so far,Niels.AlfG 07:06 AM. Should I give up hope on there ever being a fix for the Mbox2/El Crapitan?I managed to get the mbox2 lit up but of course it's not recognized in system preferences etc.I had to get my imac repaired and of course didn't get the choice of an older OS, so I'm stuck now with El Capitan and a brain dead mbox2.Cmon Avid please don't let this stay dead! There has to be some sort of workaround to get this functioning again. Please?
Class?I really am trying not to buy a new interface (for financial reasons) but the way it's looking I will have to make the jump sometime soon.Any one have a contact for avid support directly?Don't let this thread die yet!.crosses fingers.JoelG 03:59 PM. I found no other option than selling my Mbox2 if I am still to use latest OSX and applications editing Audio.:mad:Of course one could use Linux, as the drivers/support for Mbox 2 compliant out of the box with the new Linux kernel, but that is not for me.:rolleyes:For the money I got I bought a OSX class compliant Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 and it works fine with El Capitan, without any drivers.:-)What i think and what i hope Avid would consider is that thees audio devices Avid and other vendors do should be class compliant to some degree out of the box - at least for playback.
Mbox Mini Drivers
There could always be latency issues and features solved with drivers but not totally a dead device without.;)All times are GMT -7. The time now is 11:29 AM.
